Migration

Data Migration & System Transition

Move valuable business history out of an older system, spreadsheet, or exported file and into a cleaner connected EBSS environment.

Overview

Bring the history with you

Changing systems should not mean abandoning years of customer, asset, work, or billing history. We treat migration as a structured transition rather than a one-click file upload.

The process starts with the data you can export. We identify what matters, determine how it maps into EBSS, preserve relationships where possible, test the result, and validate the imported records before the transition is considered complete.
Capabilities

What we can migrate

Customers & Contacts

Names, contact information, addresses, notes, and other customer history.

Companies & Relationships

Business accounts and the people or records connected to them.

Assets & Vehicles

Vehicles, equipment, units, properties, or other tracked assets linked to customers.

Work History

Jobs, work orders, service history, notes, statuses, and legacy references where export data allows it.

Billing History

Estimates, invoices, totals, statuses, and related billing information when available in the source data.

Legacy References

Keep original record identifiers or source payloads available for traceability during the transition.

Process

A controlled migration process

1

Export Review

We inspect the files your existing system can provide and identify usable data, gaps, and formatting issues.

2

Field & Relationship Mapping

Source fields are mapped to EBSS records, including links such as customer-to-vehicle or customer-to-work history.

3

Cleanup & Preparation

Duplicate, inconsistent, incomplete, and malformed values are identified before import.

4

Test Import

A controlled import is run so the structure and relationships can be checked before the final load.

5

Validation & Final Import

Imported data is reviewed, corrections are made where needed, and the production transition is completed.

Why it matters

Why migration is worth doing carefully

Preserve Business History

Keep useful context your team depends on instead of starting from an empty database.

Reduce Manual Re-entry

Avoid rebuilding years of customer and operational records by hand.

Improve Data Quality

Use the transition as an opportunity to clean and normalize information that accumulated over time.

Maintain Traceability

Legacy references help your team reconcile old-system records with the new platform.

Best fit

Common migration scenarios

Legacy business software

An older application can export CSV, Excel, database extracts, or reports but is no longer meeting the business needs.

Spreadsheet-driven operations

Customer, asset, work, or billing information has grown across multiple files and manual processes.

Multiple disconnected systems

The business wants to consolidate important records into one connected platform.

Connected solution

What the data can connect to in EBSS

Customer Records

Imported people and companies become part of the connected customer history.

Assets & Vehicles

Imported assets can remain associated with the correct customer or company.

Work Orders

Historical or current work can be tied back to customers, assets, staff, and billing records.

Billing Documents

Estimates and invoices can remain connected to the customer and related work where source data permits.

FAQ

Migration FAQ

What file formats can you work with?

CSV and spreadsheet-style exports are common starting points. Other structured exports can be reviewed case by case.

Can every field from the old system be imported?

Not always. Migration depends on what the source system exports and whether that information has a meaningful destination in EBSS.

What happens to data that does not map cleanly?

It can be reviewed for cleanup, stored as a legacy reference where appropriate, or excluded if it is not useful.

Can relationships between records be preserved?

Yes when the export contains reliable identifiers or references that allow those relationships to be reconstructed.

Have years of data trapped in an old system?

Show us what your current system can export. We can evaluate the files and map out a practical transition path.
